JOB
The M&amp;C software team in Portsmouth require Software Test Engineers to support the current work load and the future development of the Astrium GEMS Product. The project solution comprises of Element Managers (EMA) for various terminals (Fixed, Naval, Fly-away, Transportable and Vehicle). The EMAs provide configuration and management of equipments reporting to the Network Control Centre and allow the system operators to change the element configuration (often over the air) to set up specific communications characteristics. It is based on similar Astrium work for other communications programmes but adopted to a specific set of terminals.
The Test Engineers will support the Test Manager in meeting the test strategy for the project. They will be expected to generate integration &amp; system level test procedures for both manual and automated testing (Rational Robot derived from System and Subsystem Requirements) as well as the development of GUI based Simulators against ICD definitions to support testing. They will be expected to perform debugging of the software to ascertain the areas of failure and to raise software problem reports/defect reports using the Rational ClearQuest problem reporting tool. </description>
